Apple introduced it's Tile competitor a few weeks ago - Airtag! Super cool product in my opinion.
TLDR - track your items now on the same app as 'Find my Friends'. So now your keys / backpack / camera will show up on there just like your other devices do.
Clearly, attaching the Airtag device to a pair of keys will help you 'lose them less' intuitively (Apple says ‘Lose your knack for losing things’ with tracking!)
2 interesting factors (confounding) that will also play a role in people 'losing their keys less' with the Airtag:
- We've now attached a cool Apple product to our keys so we'll be more mindful of where they are perhaps?
- No more loose keys in your pockets! You need a keychain to use the Airtag --> keychains themselves keep things organized
