Netflix and Amazon should consider a "grandparents" streaming plan.
In the midst of COVID, senior citizens and older folk are unfortunately at high risk. So (on avg and as much as possible), they're trying to stay quarantined with limited exposure to other people.
Boredom amongst seniors is a real thing, and with a sample size of 2 (my own grandparents) - it's easy to see how COVID has exacerbated the problem. The daily walks, the grocery runs, chatting with other seniors: all on pause.
65+ year-olds were half as likely to be subscribed to a Netflix account as of March 2020 in the US, compared to Gen Z or Millennials - and at home, maybe they could use streaming services the most
Could be worth trying a "Gift your grandparents a Netflix plan" for a 20% discount - capture the market that uses your service the least, while doing some good in the world
