Tried pretty hard to stay away from TikTok - sounded toooo addictive for my liking and now Meta just brought its own version of Tiktok - called Reels - straight to my phone.
They’d been testing this idea for a while, but the timing of the rollout is cool: right when there have been talks of US tiktok operations being sold to another tech behemoth (Microsoft), FB introduces an in-house version of the super successful and sticky product
Not sure (at all), but I think this helps Facebook in any antitrust claims - The “We’re competing against Snapchat, twitter AND msft now” argument could be a real one
Let’s see how quickly Reels can pickup (permanent) market share
