An extension for the music streaming industry that may have a ton of money in it - 'album musicals'.
Concerts are unlikely to reach the volume of attendance/tickets sold that they had in 2019, at least till 2022 - a major source of earnings for artists, apart from streaming and ads/branding.
So - what if streaming platforms (could be Spotify/Netflix, but Apple music/TV is a great fit) start releasing 1-hour long specials for new-releasing music albums.
- Early access to a famous artists upcoming album (Drake in Jan 2021?)
- A movie-like experience that connects each song, with a video backdrop that tells a story
- Sold à la carte like Mulan for $20-$30 (more than an album, closer to a movie)
Drake (for ex.) had over 8B streams on Spotify in 2018. If you'd believe that he can sell 5M "album musicals" (1-hour of music videos from his unreleased album, stitched together to tell a beautiful story) - it'd probably earn him the same (or more) than his current annual spotify earnings.
I'd personally pay to watch/listen to something like that (esp. in virtual times)
